About the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive
The SLS AMG Electric Drive was a landmark engineering exercise that briefly held the title of the world's fastest electric production car. Replacing the signature 6.2-litre V8 with four electric motors and a 60kWh battery pack, it delivered a staggering 1,000Nm of torque and sophisticated torque vectoring. Despite its immense weight penalty over the standard car, its F1-derived technology allowed it to lap the Nürburgring in under eight minutes. Originally intended for a run of 100 units, its astronomical price and limited range resulted in only nine customer cars being completed, making it the rarest SLS variant.
