About the Maxus T90
Launched in the UK in early 2023, the Maxus T90 EV holds the distinction of being the first mass-produced electric pick-up truck available in the British market. Based on the diesel-powered T90 sold in Asia, it features an 88.5kWh battery pack and a rear-mounted motor, prioritising urban and regional commercial use over heavy off-roading. While its rear-wheel-drive layout and 1,500kg towing capacity are modest compared to diesel rivals, it qualifies for significant tax incentives and offers a refined, quiet driving experience. It represents a significant milestone for SAIC Motor as they expand the Maxus brand into the European electrified commercial vehicle sector.
