About the Kia Optima JF
The fourth-generation Kia Optima, internal code JF, represented a significant step forward in refinement and design for the Korean brand's D-segment contender. Designed under the direction of Peter Schreyer, it featured the signature 'Tiger Nose' grille and a stiffer chassis compared to its predecessor. The 1.7-litre CRDi engine was the mainstay of the European range, updated for this generation with a variable geometry turbocharger to improve low-end response. While not a sports saloon, it offered a composed ride and a high-quality interior that challenged established European rivals.
