About the Jeep Patriot

The Jeep Patriot was introduced as a more traditional, boxy alternative to the Compass, sharing the same Mitsubishi-derived GS platform. For the European market, Jeep sourced the 2.0-litre Pumpe Düse diesel engine from Volkswagen to provide the necessary torque and fuel efficiency required by local buyers. While it features the iconic seven-slot grille and rugged looks, it utilizes a car-based unibody construction rather than a traditional ladder frame. The Freedom Drive I four-wheel-drive system provides light off-road capability, though it is primarily designed for inclement weather and gravel tracks.
