About the Hongqi L5
The Hongqi L5 is a full-size ultra-luxury saloon that debuted at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show as a civilian version of the CA7600J state limousine. Its design is a deliberate homage to the 1958 Hongqi CA72, featuring retro round headlights and a massive chrome grille that symbolises Chinese prestige. Underneath the traditional styling, it features a bespoke all-aluminium V12 engine and an interior adorned with hand-carved jade and fine leathers. It is primarily used by high-ranking government officials and remains a rare sight outside of mainland China.
