About the Haas VF-23
The VF-23 was the first 2023 car to pass FIA homologation, in December 2022, and carried the red, white and black colours of new title sponsor MoneyGram. Kevin Magnussen drove it alongside Nico Hülkenberg, who was back in a full-time seat after three years without one. The Ferrari-powered car was often strong in qualifying, with Hülkenberg reaching Q3 eight times and Magnussen starting fourth in Miami, but heavy tyre wear dropped it down the order in races. An upgrade brought to the United States Grand Prix failed and was abandoned, and Haas finished tenth with 12 points, its best result Hülkenberg's seventh place in Australia.
