About the Ferrari F2008
Unveiled in January 2008 and first driven by Kimi Räikkönen at Fiorano, the F2008 was built to the new rules that brought a standard McLaren Electronic Systems ECU, removing traction control and engine braking. Rule changes such as gearboxes that had to last four races and higher cockpit sides made it heavier than the F2007. Räikkönen and Felipe Massa won eight of the 18 races, with eight poles and 13 fastest laps, and Ferrari took the constructors' championship. Their season also had setbacks, among them Massa's engine failing while he led in Hungary with three laps remaining.
