About the Ferrari F2005
The F2005 was Ferrari's 2005 car, an evolution of the F2004 adapted by Rory Byrne, Aldo Costa and Ross Brawn's team to that year's rules. It was rushed into service at the Bahrain Grand Prix, earlier than planned, once Renault and McLaren had shown superior pace. Its Bridgestone tyres struggled against Michelin under the new rule that a single set must last the race, and the engine and gearbox design stopped the team opening up the diffuser as much as it wanted. Its only win was a one-two at Indianapolis, where just six cars started after the Michelin teams withdrew, and Ferrari finished a distant third in the Constructors' Championship.
