About the Ferrari F2003-GA

Developed from the F2002, the F2003-GA had new bulbous sidepods and a longer wheelbase for aerodynamic gain, with developed versions of the previous engine and gearbox; its Tipo 052 V10 was rated at 845 hp at 18,300 rpm in race trim. It debuted at the 2003 Spanish Grand Prix and won three of its first four races, but a tendency to overuse its tyres in the hot European summer let Williams and McLaren close in. Ferrari won the final three races to hold off both rivals for the constructors' title, while Michael Schumacher took his sixth drivers' crown, breaking Juan Manuel Fangio's record that had stood for 46 years. The car scored seven wins, five pole positions and five fastest laps before the F2004 replaced it.
