About the Ferrari F2001

Designed under Ross Brawn and Rory Byrne for 2001 rules that raised the front wing, the F2001 had a distinctive droop-snoot nose and spoon-shaped front wing, and drew more on McLaren's design thinking than earlier Ferraris. It kept Ferrari's periscope exhausts and the same basic gearbox and internal layout as its predecessors, with a 90-degree Tipo 050 V10 rated at 825 hp. Michael Schumacher won nine races and his fourth title in 2001, passing Alain Prost's record for career Grand Prix wins, as Ferrari took a third straight constructors' championship. Updated as the F2001B, it won again at the start of 2002, giving the design 10 wins and 13 pole positions in all.
