About the Ferrari 158
Mauro Forghieri's 158 succeeded the V6 156 with a 1,489 cc 90-degree V8 and a stress-bearing semi-monocoque of aluminium panels riveted to a tubular steel structure, making it the first Ferrari Formula One car with monocoque construction. The V8 produced 210 hp at 11,000 rpm, and the lighter, nimbler 158 suited small, twisty circuits while the flat-12 1512 built on the same chassis was aimed at fast tracks. John Surtees won the 1964 Drivers' Championship and Ferrari the Constructors' title. For the last two races of that season the cars were entered by the North American Racing Team in white and blue instead of red.

Ferrari 158 rarity in CarSpot
The Ferrari 158 is a Unicorn card in CarSpot, with a rarity score of 26 out of 100. The rarest tier: hypercars, one-offs and cars built in tiny numbers, typically fewer than about 500. A Unicorn card is worth 320 XP.
Each model's tier starts from a 0–100 score based on its value plus its power or production numbers. Once enough players have spotted a model, how often it is spotted can move it up or down one tier. How CarSpot rarity works
Rarity is a collectible game mechanic, not an assessment of real-world scarcity or value.
Ferrari 158 fun facts
- The white-and-blue NART entries of late 1964 were a protest over a dispute between Ferrari and the Automobile Club d'Italia about homologating a new mid-engined racing car.
- The 158 won only two World Championship races, yet that was enough for both 1964 titles.
- Three chassis were built as the flat-12 1512, one of the most powerful 1.5-litre engines, second only to Honda's RA271 V12.
