About the Datsun Cherry N10

The N10-generation Datsun Cherry, known as the Pulsar in Japan, was a significant success for Nissan in Europe, particularly in the UK where it became the best-selling foreign car in 1981. Moving away from the quirky styling of its F-II predecessor, the N10 adopted a more conventional, boxy European aesthetic that appealed to mass-market buyers. It retained the brand's pioneering front-wheel-drive layout and independent suspension, offering predictable handling and impressive interior packaging for its size. While not fast, its A-series overhead-valve engine was renowned for exceptional reliability and ease of maintenance, making it a staple of 1980s suburban life.
