About the ARO 10
The ARO 10 was launched in 1980 as a smaller, more accessible companion to the larger ARO 24 series. It utilised many components from Dacia, most notably the 1.3-litre engine and front suspension parts, to simplify production and maintenance. Despite its modest power, the vehicle gained a reputation for genuine off-road capability thanks to its rugged chassis and four-wheel-drive system. It was exported to various Western markets under different names, including the Dacia Duster in the United Kingdom, marking the first use of that now-famous nameplate.
