About the Abarth Punto Evo
The Abarth Punto Evo was a significant update to the Grande Punto, introducing Fiat's MultiAir engine technology which replaced the traditional throttle butterfly with electro-hydraulic valve management. This resulted in a 10% increase in power and a 15% boost in torque while improving fuel efficiency. Distinguished by its aggressive body kit, Brembo brakes, and 'Scorpion' branding, it offered a more mature but still characterful alternative to the contemporary Polo GTI. While it lacked the ultimate poise of some rivals, its punchy mid-range and distinctive Italian flair made it a cult favourite among hot hatch enthusiasts.

Abarth Punto Evo fun facts
- The car features a 'Sport' switch that adjusts engine mapping, steering weight, and engages the Torque Transfer Control (TTC) system to mimic a limited-slip differential.
- The MultiAir system allows the intake valves to be opened multiple times in one stroke, or not at all, providing infinite control over the engine's breathing.
- Despite its performance focus, it was one of the first hot hatches to feature a Start&Stop system as standard to meet Euro 5 emissions regulations.
