Virgin MVR-02
Marussia Virgin's 2011 car, the second Formula One design developed entirely with computational fluid dynamics.
About the Virgin MVR-02
The MVR-02 was designed by Wirth Research for Marussia Virgin Racing, with the 'M' marking the team's new owner, Russian sports car maker Marussia Motors. Like the VR-01 it was developed entirely with CFD, and it kept the original VR-01 length while carrying a full-size fuel tank. The team skipped KERS to concentrate on curing the hydraulic and gearbox problems of 2010, with Timo Glock and debutant Jérôme d'Ambrosio driving. Its best results were 14th places in Australia and Canada, and in June 2011 the team ended its partnership with Nick Wirth after a disappointing start to the season.
