About the Super Aguri SA06
Super Aguri introduced the SA06 at the 2006 German Grand Prix, where rookie Sakon Yamamoto also made his debut alongside Takuma Sato. A refined version of the SA05, it brought revised aerodynamics and suspension, a new quick-shift gearbox and a lighter chassis, and gave a worthwhile gain in performance. The high point came at the Brazilian Grand Prix, where Sato finished tenth of 16 finishers and he and Yamamoto set the ninth- and seventh-fastest race laps. An SA06B with updated aerodynamics and a narrowed rear end appeared at the Japanese Grand Prix, but the team ended the year unclassified in the constructors' championship without a point.
