About the Stewart SF3
Launched at the Autosport International show in January 1999, the SF3 was built around Cosworth's new CR-1 V10, a notably small and technically advanced engine, with Gary Anderson arriving as technical director. The season began badly when both cars suffered oil fires on the grid in Australia, but Rubens Barrichello finished third at Imola and took pole position in France. At the European Grand Prix Johnny Herbert came through from 14th on the grid to win, with Barrichello third, for the team's only victory. Stewart finished fourth in the Constructors' Championship with 36 points, and Ford, which bought the team during the season, renamed it Jaguar Racing for 2000.
