Midland M16
Midland's only Formula One car, launched as the first Formula One entry by a Russian manufacturer and repainted in Spyker orange before the season was out.
About the Midland M16
Built in the UK by the former Jordan team after a planned Dallara-built car fell through, the M16 was designed under technical director James Key and powered by customer Toyota V8s. Tiago Monteiro and Christijan Albers raced it through 2006, but the strong reliability it showed in early testing gave way to frequent retirements. Both cars were disqualified from the German Grand Prix for flexible wings, and the best result came next time out in Hungary, where Monteiro and Albers finished ninth and tenth. After Spyker bought the team in September the car ran the final three rounds as the Spyker M16 in orange and silver, and the team ended the year tenth without a point.
