About the Mercedes-Benz GLE W166
Introduced in 2015 as part of Mercedes-Benz's revised naming strategy, the W166 GLE was a significant facelift of the third-generation M-Class. The GLE 350 d serves as the core diesel variant, powered by the OM642 V6 engine which provides effortless cruising capability and substantial towing power. It debuted the 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission to the range, improving both efficiency and refinement over its predecessor. While it retains the rugged underpinnings of the ML, the GLE update added a more modern interior and the latest COMAND infotainment systems of its era.
