About the Mercedes-Benz CLK C208
Launched in 1997, the C208 CLK-Class was Mercedes-Benz's answer to the BMW 3 Series Coupé, cleverly using W202 C-Class underpinnings dressed in W210 E-Class styling. The 230 Kompressor variant utilised a Roots-type supercharger to provide a broad torque curve, making it a capable grand tourer with more character than the entry-level 200. While the interior featured the brand's signature wood and leather, the driving experience was focused more on refined cruising than outright sports car dynamics. Today, it is valued for its pillarless-look design and robust M111 engine, though rust remains a common concern for collectors.
